Price Da Nang by the choices that actually move the total

There is no honest single ‘Da Nang costs X per day’ number. A dorm near the beach, a private room for two, a Ba Na Hills day and repeated transfers to Hoi An can create completely different trips. Start with VOAB’s national daily bands, then adjust the Da Nang-specific decisions.

Quick answer: start with the whole-trip band

Use the Vietnam Daily Budget guide as the baseline, then adjust for your actual room, location, airport arrival and any high-ticket attraction. A few Da Nang listings are useful as anchors, but they do not create a defensible city-wide average.

Dated accommodation examples—not a city average

During the 23 August 2026 source refresh, selected Booking.com listing pages still surfaced August stay-date examples with dorm prices around US$4–8 per night and simple double-room examples around US$14–22 per night across the properties checked.

Selected observationApprox. VND at ~26,200/USDHow to use it
Dorm examples around US$4–8~105,000–210,000 VND/nightHistorical listing anchor only; recheck bed type, tax, cancellation and your actual travel date
Simple double examples around US$14–22~367,000–576,000 VND/nightSelected-property anchor only; compare the live final payable total for your dates

These surfaced examples are not live quotes for a future stay. Room type, tax, service charge, discount eligibility, weekend/holiday demand and exact travel dates can materially change what you pay. For the wider accommodation framework, use Vietnam Hotel Prices 2026.

Location can cost less than a cheaper room

A beach-area room can reduce ride-hail spend if most of your trip is My Khe, An Thuong and the coast. A central room can reduce friction if you prioritize the river, food, airport and city movement.

The weak comparison is “Hotel A is 100,000 VND cheaper.” The better comparison is “Hotel A plus the extra rides and time I will buy every day.” Use the Da Nang destination hub before booking the lowest headline rate.

Airport and local transport anchors

Da Nang Airport is close to the urban core. Grab’s current DAD airport page gives a provider-published city-center reference of roughly 3–5 km, 10–15 minutes and 70,000–120,000 VND. Treat that as a planning reference, not a guaranteed live quote for your hotel or time of day.

The official airport guide lists Route 12 at 8,000 VND/trip and Route 06 at 15,000 VND for up to half the route or 22,000 VND for the full route.

If your actual destination is Hoi An, keep that transfer separate from Da Nang local transport. The official Hai Van Airport–Hoi An bus is listed at 120,000 VND/trip. See the Da Nang Airport to Hoi An comparison.

Food: do not over-model the cheap part of the trip

One restaurant menu cannot produce a trustworthy Da Nang city average. Use Vietnam Food Cost 2026 for meal and coffee planning logic, then adjust for your own restaurant choices.

The larger budget swing is often the room upgrade, a premium attraction, multiple private transfers or an inefficient hotel location rather than a few inexpensive local meals.

Activities range from free to a million-dong decision

Beach time can be free. Official 2026 Da Nang tourism information lists Marble Mountains — Thuy Son Peak at 40,000 VND for adults and Am Phu Cave at 20,000 VND.

Ba Na Hills sits in a different budget category: the same official 2026 guide lists the non-resident adult ticket at 1,000,000 VND under the published schedule.

That is why VOAB does not hide “activities” inside one daily average. Decide whether a major-ticket experience is included, then calculate the rest of the day around it.

Three ways to avoid overspending in Da Nang

  1. Choose the base before the room deal. Location changes daily transport friction.
  2. Treat Hoi An transfers as a route decision. Do not bury them inside incidental local transport.
  3. Separate free/low-cost days from high-ticket attraction days. Averaging blindly hides the real decision.
